I was wandering around a few of Canon’s sites while listening to this week’s TWIP podcast and stumbled across a really cool site featuring Canon’s L Series glass. The site features several downloadable desktop images and even a screensaver for Windows (boooo!) and Mac (yahoooo)!
Since I have a love and hate relationship (love their sharpness, hate their price) with this glass, I just had to download these desktop images for my MacBook.

Nice find, I have to confess I downloaded the one you show above as a desktop. And I’m with ya….love the sharpness hate the price, but I’d still pay it again if I had too
@Peter – Thanks for reading my blog and for the comment. I’ve been shooting with Canon gear on and off for 30 years and have always lusted after their expensive glass. Right now I’m looking at the 100-400mm f/4-5.6L IS USM and at $1500 it’s just a little too expensive for my budget. What I’ll probably do is rent the 300mm f/4L IS lens and use my 1.4x extender with it. A 7 day insured rental including freight is only $83 at LensRentals.com and this is a great way to try out the really expensive L glass on a limited budget.
Cheers,
Jeff
