Stretch Those Wings

Just a quick post from one of my recent visits to the Brazos Bend State Park. You’ve really got to keep your eye on the subject to catch the amazing behavior of birds just before they take off.

  1. Kalem,

Thanks for the comment and I agree with you completely. Magazines like National Geographic, Life and the long lost Peterson’s Photographic were the comic books of my youth. I still get excited when the latest issue of NG hits my mailbox each month, especially when Joe McNally’s images are on the cover like they are this month.

And nothing pleases me more than watching my kids leaf through each issue.

  2. I’m always amazed at photos of nature and wildlife. For example, the National Geographic magazine photos always have grabbed my attention. One of my favorite photography past times is photographing wildlife (as found in the city and surrounding areas of where I live). While doing so, I always imagine myself to be a photographer for National Geographic. In reality, my photos never are the quality of those in NG. But, in my mind, they’re not bad. And, for me, that’s where my ‘reality’ takes place – in my mind:-)

    Good work.
